3 Easy Snacks to Make Yourself

As we rush through our busy lives, it's easy to forget to eat and take care of ourselves in the middle of the day.  Between lunch and dinner is six to seven hours, where our bodies are running through what protein and sugar we have left.  If we don't snack, we can get cranky, have headaches, and lose focus in the afternoon.  Since most of us work during this time, we can also lose our ability to be productive and help our teams.

3 Easy Snacks To Make Yourself

Instead of going without any food, or pausing to cook a full meal in the afternoon, here are three easy snacks you can make for yourself for any time of day!

3 Easy Snacks To Make Yourself

Pita Bread Pizza:

A quick and delicious snack that only takes ten minutes in the oven is a pita bread pizza!  With some pre-made tomato sauce, cheese, and whatever simple toppings you want, you can assemble a pita bread pizza at any time.  Preheat your oven to three hundred degrees, and set out a slice of pita bread.  Spread a couple of tablespoons of tomato sauce on the bread, and then top with a quarter cup of your favourite shredded cheese.  You can top it with fresh vegetables like broccoli, spinach, zucchini, or mushroom, artichoke, hummus, avocado, (nonveg - pepperoni, bacon bits), or anything else you have on hand!  Bake for ten to fifteen minutes, or until your cheese has taken on a little colour, and then enjoy!

Dessert Quesadilla:

Another simple snack that takes a couple of minutes on the stovetop is a dessert quesadilla if you want to warm it up!  You can use two small tortillas or one large one folded in half as the base!  On top of this, there are a couple of options.  You can cut up a banana and spoon on some Nutella for a chocolate banana treat, or spread pepper jelly on some strawberry slices!  After you've assembled it, you can either toast it with some butter for a couple of minutes or enjoy it cold!  There are enough proteins and sugars in this to help you get through the rest of the day.

Ants On A Log:

Ants on a log are one of the most classic and popular snacks that people can enjoy.  Simple ingredients are put together to create a snack that combines sweet and savory, creamy and crunchy.  Rinse and dry your celery, and cut into five-inch pieces.  You can pull out the strings so that the celery is less fibrous to eat, but it's not necessary!  Spread some peanut butter over the stick, filling in the curve the celery naturally makes.  Place raisins in a straight line down the celery stick, filling it in as much as you’d like.  You can enjoy as many of these as you want!  The protein will leave you feeling full, while the crisp greens and chewy raisins will please your taste buds.

The only wrong way to snack is to go without eating at all.  Ensure that you keep enough fuel in your body to push yourself through the day and enjoy mixing it up and creating foods that makes you happy.

See you soon ❤️
