June 2018 Haul + First Impression

Hope all of you are doing great 😊. Today I am going to share my latest skincare/beauty purchases with all of you. Well, I had bought & restocked a lot of products in the month of April & May, but due to the busy schedule couldn’t publish this article earlier.  Anyway, without much talking, let’s move on to the products right away!!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser:

This foaming cleanser from The Body Shop is particularly suitable for blemished skin. It is infused with organic tea tree oil, lemon tea tree oil, and tamanu oil which we all know are beneficial for acne scars. I have been using this face wash twice a day for over two weeks and so far, so good!! I’d try to review it soon for all of you.

The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Night Cream For Sensitive Skin:

Okay, so my previous organic Nutrigenics night cream which is from this brand only got discontinued here in Hong Kong. So I asked the sale assistant if there is any night cream available with lesser chemicals. She showed me this aloe vera cream and I found it to be pretty good as far as ingredients are concerned. I am using it every night and wake up with soft and plumped skin next morning daily 😊.

The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel:

So, there was some offer going on at the TBS outlet, buy 3 and get some discounts!! As I purchased the above mentioned two products, the assistant insisted me to buy another product within 60 HKD. I was interested in buying a nude lip liner which unfortunately wasn’t available that time. Meanwhile, hubby spotted this shower gel range and asked me to choose one. Lord, I was so confused about what to buy first amongst colourful mango, grapefruit, and strawberry shower gels? I literally played “abba dabba chabba” game 😜 and got this grapefruit variant!! I am using this body wash these days and have found it to be an average product, honestly.

Gucci Bamboo Body Wash:

I own only one Eau de Toilette (apart from Fabindia perfume oil) and that is from Gucci. I am addicted to the elegant fragrance of this EDT. So when I spotted this bamboo shower gel at the store, the first thing came to my mind was about its scent!! True to the claim, it smells heavenly 😍. I haven’t yet started using this body wash, so cannot comment on how it works. However, expect a full detailed review soon on NBAM.

Mark & Spencer Lavender Moisture Rich Bath Essence:

Likewise TBS shower gel; here also I had to buy something to get some discounts on my next purchase. A story of every economical shopaholic 😃! Well, I picked up this lavender variant amongst rose, honey and others because I love the smell of lavender. I am yet to use this product, so you have to wait for its detailed review!

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Body Oil With Vitamin E:

Enough of shower gels; let’s talk about the body oil now!! My body skin is dry and so body oil is a must-have shower product for me. Till date, I was using olive oils, but this time I decided to try something new. The active ingredients in this body oil are sesame oil, soybean oil and Safflower oil. This moisturizing body oil claims to help soften and soothe rough, dry skin. It’s absolutely true to its claims!! I have been using this oil for a while and totally in love with it 😊!

Bio Oil:

We all know how much this oil is effective for stretch marks. NO! I have neither stretch marks nor I’m pregnant. I did purchase this oil to test how it works on my burnt scars (thanks to hot oil & my cooking skills)!! Till now, it has shown no positive results. It’s been just one month, so let me use it for at least 3 months and then I’d write about it in detail.

Etude House Eyes & Lips Remover:

I am using Bioderma and NIVEA makeup removing micellar water to remove my makeup. However, I wanted to try something specifically meant for lips and eyes. Etude House Eyes & Lips makeup remover claims to be gentle yet effective. I haven’t yet tried this one but would start using it soon.

Etude House Calendula & Camellia Sheet masks:

I spotted these masks at the store and thought of buying them along with the remover. I was trying out only Innisfree sheet masks, so it’s a break from that you can say! Calendula sheet mask is for soothing and skin radiance, whereas, Camellia one is for lifting and skin radiance. I am yet to try these masks!!

Shiseido White Lucent Luminizing Infuser Toner, PRO approach*2:

Finally, a Japanese skincare product that I’ll be trying out this month. It’s a small sample sized product so convenient for travel also 😊. My Plum green tea toner is getting over so I will be using this toner very soon.

Nature’s Gate Jojoba and Sacred Lotus Shampoo & Conditioner:

After face wash, there is another product that gets over quickly, it is my hair cleanser!! Recently, I went to the US store particularly to buy Organix hair products but ended up buying this duo from the brand Nature’s Gate. The brand is vegan and the variant I picked mainly contains Jojoba and Sacred Lotus. I have not tried these yet.

NARS Pure Sheer SPF Lip Treatment BIANCA:

Each time I would cross the NARS outlet on my way towards the nearby metro station, I would ask myself ‘Is there anything I can try from NARS’? Wondering why such thought?? It’s because I have read somewhere that their best seller products like concealer, lipsticks all have dupes. And you can get the dupes at a much affordable price in brands like E.L.F Cosmetics, Maybelline to name a few! But this time, I took that chance and peeped into the store to buy lipsticks. While I was testing the lip shades, I noticed that sales assistant was giving me this lip balm (which also works as a lip primer) to moisturize my lips first. The difference was noticeable of course! So, without any hesitation, I purchased it. Yeah, it’s costly but l like its luscious effect on my lips 😊.

NARS Audacious Lipstick, Jane:

Before splurging on NARS makeup products, I did some research on their products, especially lipsticks. And after reading several reviews I zeroed in on the shade ANITA from their audacious range. However, when I tried that shade at the store, noticed it was washing me out!! After trying a couple of lipsticks, I finally picked this shade JANE, which is kind of brownish nude. It feels comfortable on my lips and yeah, I am in love with this shade 😊.

La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring water:

Thermal spring water is my go-to skin care product in summer season!! After Vichy & Avene, now it’s time to try La Roche-Posay brand! I purchased this product last week. Obviously, I haven’t tried it yet but would soon come up with its detailed review. Stay tuned!
