My Experience With Revlon Nail Varnish 490 Urban:

Deep colours make me happy and that’s why I always try to paint my nails with dark vibrant shades. To be honest, I don’t follow pastel-for-summers and dark-for-fall kind of rules when it comes to choosing nail polish shades. I love Blue in all forms– sky blue/bluish green/navy blue/purple-ish blue and the list goes on. This is my first ever nail paint from Revlon and thankfully, it didn’t disappoint me.

Revlon 490 urban nail enamel comes in a small, transparent sleek bottle with a black cap and golden band detailing. The packaging is simple, nothing fancy.

NOTD-Revlon Blue Nail Paint, 490 Urban

‘490 Urban’ shade is a dark blue shade which looks black at times if seen from a far distance and in different lights. In our normal eyes, it would look deep navy blue but honestly, if we deeply analyse the colour details then the shade is a mix of deep violet and black colour (as per my colour sense 😜). It has a creamy smooth texture with not so strong artificial smell.

It has a thin brush which provides an even, streak-free nail paint application effortlessly. But I am not that impressed with this brush, especially after using H&M nail paint brushes I found this brush to be less efficient. Although the colour is bold and well pigmented, it needs at least two coats for opaque coverage. It dries quickly and is free of Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Toluene, DBP, or Camphor.

Revlon 490 Urban Nail Enamel on my nails

As I do all the household chores myself nail paints do wear off within two days from the day of application. Generally, without any top/base coat, this one lasts me up to 3 days sans any chipping. But when applied with a high-quality top and base coat, it lasts longer. In my case, it lasted for around 7 days with a slight wear off at the tips (By the way, I was on vacation at that time, didn’t do any work 😁)!! Moreover, the formula is great and has a nice sheen to it which looks stunning.

To conclude,

Revlon 490 Urban nail enamel is a beautiful deep navy blue coloured nail paint shade. It is absolutely true to its claim of being chip-resistant nail polish. I love how it stays for a good period of time on my nails without any chipping or colour fading. I would love to try other shades in this range as well.
