My Experience with AVON Simply Delicate Feminine Wash:-

I got this feminine wash from one of the Avon consultants. Avon is a trusted brand, and I had used a couple of products from their different segments. This intimate wash product was on offer at that time, so I thought to try it, thus bought it. I have already emptied two bottles of it and now sharing my views.

Why Feminine wash? Is a feminine wash necessary?

The feminine wash or the intimate wash for females is designed to keep the feminine hygiene around those private areas. It keeps the pH level balanced as well as protects the intimate areas from infections and viruses. The normal pH level is 4 to 5. If this is altered and made less acidic, then it loses its natural protection, and thus bacteria invade in and cause secondary infections. That is why doctors suggest using mild, pH balanced, and not so strong perfumed feminine wash, as perfumed products may change the natural pH or acidity of the vagina.

Many gynaecologists advise not to wash internally, as it is harmful. Woman with no symptoms and infections, doctors suggest using hot water only. But if you are interested in using feminine washes daily, then opt for gentle formula over the strong one.

Packaging wise, I would say the design of this product is simple, with a feminine touch. It comes in a white opaque oval-shaped bottle and has a sturdy flip-flop cap, which I find sometimes hard to open. It is spill-proof, so easy to carry along anywhere.

Texture

The Simply Delicate gentle feminine wash is transparent gel-type in nature. The consistency is semi thick; you need to add a little water to produce lather. But be careful while dispensing the product, or else it may drip from your palm. This has a mild, soothing fragrance as well. You require a tiny amount of this wash. So, a small bottle will last long. I mainly used this wash during my period days to keep the irritation plus infection problems at bay. Otherwise, lukewarm water is enough for me.

I have used this feminine wash for a long time (you can guess that from these pictures), and it is better than what I expected. True to its claim, it is gentle and mild. After every single use, it gave me a clean, fresh feeling. Its pleasant smell will not bother people with a sensitive nose as well. Since this product is gentle, no harm in using twice a day. I wouldn’t mind using it every day! But I know, prolong use of anything is harmful. Hence, I used this just on the period days only. It didn’t cause me any irritation or inflammation in the intimate zone. Well, I’m not sure of its claim of neutralising unwanted odours because of the presence of vegetable protein extract, as I don’t have such issues. But yes, the period smell goes away definitely for some time.

  12. Nicely reviewed. However, I would like to highlight the fact the ingredient Imidazolidinyl Urea is extremely dangerous. Check out this link for more info : http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-8686/are-you-putting-these-18-toxic-chemicals-on-your-body-every-day.html

    1. Really? Thanks for enlightening dear :) However, I don't use it everyday, it's limited to period days only. Water is enough for daily use, even doc's suggest that! It has SLS too :( By the way, thanks for stopping by Sudhaa <3
