Hair care is not just about vanity; it is essential for overall health and confidence. Today I am sharing an easy homemade all natural Rosemary hair growth oil recipe with you. If you are dealing with hair fall issues, you might want to give this simple homemade DIY hair oil recipe a try.
Why you should use Rosemary infused hair oil?
Rosemary has been used for centuries for its various health and beauty benefits. When infused in hair oil, it can work wonders for your hair. I mix Rosemary essential oil in all my homemade hair masks! Here’s why you might want to incorporate it into your hair care routine:
π Stimulates Hair Growth
Rosemary is known to stimulate hair follicles. Its antioxidant properties help in reducing hair thinning and hair loss.
π Strengthens Hair
Regular use of rosemary oil can strengthen hair follicles, making it look shinier and healthier by improving overall hair texture.
π Fights Dandruff and Dry Scalp
Rosemary has natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It soothes and hydrates the scalp, reducing dandruff and dryness, improving the scalp’s health.

π Adds Shine and Softness
The Rosemary infused oil can add a natural shine to your hair, making it look vibrant and healthy.
π Reduces DHT Levels
Rosemary may help inhibit the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone linked to hair loss, especially in androgenetic alopecia.
π Natural and Chemical-Free
Using rosemary infused oil means you're opting for a natural solution free from harsh chemicals, which can be gentler on your hair and scalp.

Why I am sharing this homemade Rosemary Hair Growth Oil recipe (My Experience)?
(My hair type: Type 1C, Oily, itchy scalp with dry hair ends, Dandruff-prone & frizzy)
I've been using this homemade hair oil for a while now. I've experimented with the recipe several times to match my hair care needs. Today, I'll share the version I currently use. I've seen great results with this oil, so I wanted to share it with you all, as always ❤️.
I enjoy oiling my hair once a week. Typically, I apply the oil either the day before shampooing or at least three hours before washing my hair on the same day. Because this hair oil also contains castor oil, you’ll need to wash your hair twice to completely remove it. The result? My hair looks incredibly shiny and smooth π!
Okay, so let me now share the oil recipe.
How to make Rosemary hair growth oil (DIY Recipe) at home?
To make this natural hair growth oil, we only need a few simple ingredients: olive oil, castor oil, almond oil, nigella seeds (or oil), cloves, fenugreek seeds, and fresh rosemary leaves. All these ingredients, not just rosemary, are fantastic for improving hair texture and promoting growth π.
The ingredients for homemade Rosemary Hair Growth Oil |
Start by cleaning and drying the rosemary leaves to remove any dirt. You can prepare this oil in two ways: 1) by mixing all the oils or 2) using the double boiling method, which is my preferred method.
π First, take a deep saucepan or pot and add 2 cups of water to boil. Then place a heatproof bowl in the water. I always use a microwave-safe clear glass bowl for this recipe.
π In the glass bowl, add organic olive oil or coconut oil, your choice. I used 100ml of extra virgin olive oil.
πNext, add about 3 tablespoons of organic almond oil (I used sweet almond oil) and 1 tablespoon of organic castor oil.
Step-by-step guide for making natural Rosemary Hair Oil |
π Add the dry herb and spices one by one. I added 1 tablespoon of nigella seeds, 1 tablespoon of cloves, 1 tablespoon of fenugreek seeds, and 10 small sprigs of fresh rosemary leaves.
π Let it boil for about 45 minutes until everything is infused in the oil.
π Once the oil is ready, turn off the stove and let it rest for a while.
Keep the prepared hair oil in dark place for 24 hours |
After an hour, pour the oil into a glass bottle and store it in a dark place for at least 24 hours before using it. I usually keep it for about 48 hours before applying it to my hair. It smells amazing afterwards π!
