Best Soothing, Natural Post-Holi Homemade Face Pack (DIY):

The Natural Face pack DIY Recipe:

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, take 2 tablespoons of besan (gram flour) or oat flour.
  2. Now add 1 tsp of rose water, 1 tablespoon of curd/yoghurt, a pinch of turmeric powder or 1/4 tsp of raw turmeric juice, and 2 drops of lemon juice.
  3. Finally, add 2 tbsp of aloe vera gel (natural or store-bought, whatever you have in your pantry) and honey to this mixture. Now give it a good mix and your post-Holi face mask is ready!

This is how it'll look after a good mix!

Why I used/mentioned these ingredients in this post-Holi face pack:

  • Besan (gram flour): Helps clean the skin properly and removes Holi colours, dirt, and extra oil.
  • Oat flour: Gently exfoliates the skin and soothes irritation caused by harsh colours.
  • Rose water: Refreshes the skin and helps calm redness and burning after Holi.
  • Yoghurt: Makes the skin soft, removes colour stains, and gives natural moisture.
  • Turmeric / raw turmeric juice: Helps heal the skin and prevents pimples or rashes after using colours.
  • Lemon juice: Helps lighten colour marks and makes dull skin look fresh again.
  • Aloe vera gel: Soothes the skin deeply and gives cooling relief to dry and irritated skin.
  • Honey: Keeps the skin hydrated, soft, and healthy after all the colour and sun exposure.

Before you apply this face pack to your skin, make sure you have cleaned your skin really well. I like to remove the colours first by using a cotton ball soaked in organic sweet almond oil or coconut oil. Once the colours are removed, I wash my skin again with a gentle face wash. I prefer this method because, even though oils are great at removing colours, they sometimes do not allow face packs or other ingredients to penetrate the skin properly. That’s why I like to double-cleanse my skin before applying a face pack, so I can reap the maximum benefits from it.

Once your skin is fully prepped, apply this homemade face pack evenly to your slightly damp face using your fingers or a spatula. This mask can be applied to your hands and feet as well!

Leave this scrub-cum-soothing face pack on for 20–30 minutes. This face pack is infused with a number of skin-loving ingredients that will not only help remove Holi stains from the skin but will also nourish and soothe irritated skin. So no worries, let it do its magic!

Once you notice that the mask has started drying out, gently scrub your skin in circular motions to remove dead skin cells. I scrub my skin with wet fingers to avoid tugging or pulling. Then rinse it off with normal water.
