My Experience With Colorbar Perfect Match Beauty Balm Honey Glaze 002:

Colorbar Perfect Match has three shades in their BB cream section- 001 Vanilla Crème, 002 Honey Glaze and 100 White Light. I picked 002 Honey Glaze for my medium skin tone (MAC NC 40 for reference) as suggested by the Sales Assistant at the store.

Product Packaging:

Colorbar Perfect Match Beauty Balm comes in a small, cute cardboard packaging wherein all the product related information is printed. The BB cream Honey Glaze 002 comes in a beautiful flat, tube packaging fitted with a firm silver-coloured screw lid. The packaging is compact, lightweight and leak-proof hence travel-friendly.

Product Texture:

Colorbar Beauty Balm 002 Honey Glaze shade has yellow undertones in it so it’s absolutely suitable for medium to dusky skin tones. The texture of this BB cream is creamy, mousse type with a thick consistency. It has a mild, unnoticeable fragrance.

How I use:

I take a pea-sized amount of this cream for my face & apply it with my fingertips. Post application, I press my fingers against the skin so that it melts into the skin nicely. Remember, this BB cream dries fast, so you need to blend it quickly. I have never used any brush or sponge to apply a BB cream thus can’t comment on how it’d work. I have dark circles and blemishes too, hence to cover them I apply the concealer & corrector underneath this beauty balm. The steps are moisturizer-sunscreen (if daytime)-corrector-concealer-BB cream-Face powder.

Note: Upon the first application, you may feel “What the hell is going on? Why does it look & feel muddy on the skin? Why it shows up the dry patches?” things like these! At least, I felt that!! Don’t fret, just moisturise your skin really well before using this beauty balm. Use my technique and try to blend it fast.

Product Performance:

The formula of this beauty balm is non-comedogenic and paraben-free thus it’s pretty much safe for the acne-prone, sensitive skinned beauties. Earlier I have tried Garnier BB cream, Maybelline clear glow BB stick and Dr G Hydra Intensive Blemish Balm. Amongst those, Garnier one broke me out badly!! Thankfully, I have never experienced any breakouts or skin irritations with this Colorbar beauty balm. This Colorbar BB cream also boasts SPF 20 yet leaves no white cast behind!

It blends in well without being cakey and provides an even, natural look with a dewy finish to the skin. The coverage is sheer but buildable and also can be worn under foundation for extra coverage as per their claim. However, it doesn’t cover the acne blemishes, only conceals the minor imperfections of the skin. In summers it stays for around 3-4 hours, lasts long in winters though!

What I don’t like about this beauty balm is it accentuates the dry patches on my skin so I need to moisturise my skin really well before applying it. On the other hand, this BB cream is not sweat-proof hence during summers when I sweat like a pig, it slides off pretty quick!

Moreover, to my dismay, Colorbar 002 Honey Glaze shade oxidizes on me! I must get the other lighter shade- Vanilla next time to avoid this issue. For the last two years, every single product be it foundation or BB/CC cream, all have been oxidizing on my skin within 3 hours of application. Even though I use a nice primer & a moisturizer (without SPF formula) underneath, they still would oxidize!! Also, I don’t use this beauty balm daily so cannot comment on its role in the skin texture improvement.

Oily Skin types- need to use a primer and set it with a nice oil-controlling
face powder. Best for winters.

Dry Skin types- need to moisturize & prime their skin nicely before
applying this BB cream

It comes off easily with a good makeup remover. I use Bioderma Micellar Water/Nivea Micellar wipes followed by washing my face with the regular cleanser.

What I Like About Colorbar Honey Glaze 002 BB Cream:

  • Perfect shade for warm, Indian skin tones
  • Gives a beautiful natural finish
  • Skin looks even-toned, smooth and luminous
  • Infused with a blend of potent botanicals & anti-oxidants
  • Non-comedogenic (it doesn't clog the pores)!
  • Has no parabens
  • Mild fragrance
  • Loaded with broad-spectrum SPF 20, protecting skin from harmful rays
  • No breakouts/irritations
  • Great for sensitive, acne-prone skin types
  • Best for everyday use

What I Dislike About Colorbar Honey Glaze 002 BB cream:

  • Expensive for the quantity it comes!
  • It dries quickly. So make sure your skin is moisturized and you’re blending it fast!
  • Not sweat-proof, transfer-proof and waterproof!
  • The coverage is sheer. Doesn’t cover scars/blemishes!
  • Clings on to dry patches which can be solved by applying moisturizer before using it!
  • It oxidizes and makes my skin look darker! I have no clue why it’s happening to me.

NBAM Rating: 4.7/5

To conclude,

Colorbar Perfect Match Beauty Balm with SPF 20, Honey Glaze 002 is true to its all claims to a great extent. This shade is best suited for all the medium to dusky skin toned beauties. It is an amazing paraben-free, everyday-wear BB cream, ideal for normal-combination skin folks. If used with a nice oil-controlling primer and face powder, this beauty balm lasts long on my skin even in hot summers. I am on my second tube and totally love this product 💗.

    1. This has an SPF of 20, so absolutely perfect for summer! Only thing is the less staying power which bothers me a lot 😑

  6. This sounded great until you said it doesn’t hold up in the heat. I spend all my time either in south Texas or even further south Florida, so I’m always in the heat. Otherwise, this sounds like a great product overall.

    1. Yes, the staying power is quite poor! But it works great for my sensitive and acne-prone skin ☺

  7. I do like that it has a SPF of 20 and since I have an oily complexion it might not dry as fast while applying it as it does for you. But, it would not get much wear here in the South as most of the year it is Summer.

  13. I'm usually not a fan of BB creams, for some reason they never really work for me! I have dry skin and some discoloration, so I need something to moisturize deeply and cover up my imperfections.

    1. Yeah, BB creams have low coverage just like tinted moisturizers!

    1. Hello Diya, thanks for stopping by! So far as I know, white light 100 is suitable for fair skin tones. I tried Honey Glaze for my medium dark skintone, however, next time, I'll get the vanilla creme one which is for fair to medium skin tone. Somehow, this BB cream always oxidizes, so one shade lighter will be perfect! 🙂 Hope this helps!
